Since only three parishioners (Glenn Backus, Bobby Ramirez, and Deb Zermeno) volunteered to serve on the parish council, we will not have an election this year and they will automatically fill the three open spots. Many thanks to Laurie Featherstone and Cruz Luna for their service on the parish council for the past few years.
Congratulations to Hayden Brook McClanahan, son of Sharon and Monte McClanahan, who was baptized at the Easter Vigil last weekend. Congratulations also to Karley Edge, Berkley Robertson, and Isabelle Wheeler who were received into the full communion of the Catholic Church and confirmed at the Easter Vigil. Many thanks to everyone who helped make our Holy Week liturgies so beautiful ... our choir and musicians, altar servers, lectors, ushers, Communion ministers, and all the other liturgical ministers! Special thanks to Melissa Clarke for all of her work preparing the sanctuary for our liturgies! Thanks as well to our deacons, the members of our RCIA team, and the catechists who prepared those who were baptized at our Easter Vigil! The word "liturgy" literally means "the work of the people," and we are blessed as a parish community that so many parishioners put so much time and effort into this sacred "work!"
We will gather on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. in the church for Mass, followed by a great baked spaghetti meal by the Circle of the Holy Family. After dinner, we will celebrate Easter with lots of fun activities! See you there!
Thank you to all of our parishioners who returned your UCA pledge cards last weekend. We have reached almost 75% of our parish's goal ... but we still need pledges to account for the $14,000 we need to raise! If you have not yet completed and returned your UCA pledge card, please do so ASAP. Please place your pledge card in the collection basket or return it to the parish office. Thank you!
Once again, the Ladies of St. Ann's and the Knights of Columbus are providing book scholarships for parishioners who will be graduating from high school and attending a college or university. The application is also available on our parish website at: https://stannsofcanyon.org/youth (on the right side of the page, under Forms, Schedules, & More ...). Please note that the scholarship application deadline is this Thursday, April 20.
Parents who would like to have their child baptized in the next few months are welcome to attend a Baptism Preparation Class this Tuesday (April 18) at 7 p.m. in Meeting Room C. Baptisms will only be scheduled when parents have completed this required class.
