Koinonia is Greek for fellowship or community, especially a community of the faithful. In Acts 2:42-47, the faithful "devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of the bread and to the prayers." St. Paul the Apostle used the term koinonia to identfy the union of the faithful to Christ. The earliest creeds of the Church used koinonia to describe the communion of saints: the believers on earth, the souls in heaven, and the souls in heaven. St. Ann's has several opportunities throughout the year to come together as a parish family.

Community Events

St. Ann's hosts an annual Czech Sausage Dinner on the first Sunday of March. This annual activity brings the entire parish community together to prepare and serve this wonderful meal to over a thousand guests each year. Additionally, guests have the opportunity to purchase arts and crafts made by parishioners and to participate in a raffle for big prizes.

The parish picnic and pool party is held on a Sunday evening as close as possible to the Feast of Saints Anne and Joachim (July 26). A picnic and games are followed by a swimming party at the Canyon city pool.

St. Ann's BBQ Contest is an annual event held in September. The winning BBQ team receives the "August Hesse, III, BBQ Trophy" and bragging rights as St. Ann's best BBQ.
The BBQ meal is provided by the parish for all of our parishioners. It is a parish day in which we come together to share food and fellowship and to cheer on our favorite BBQ team.

The FallBack Festival is held each fall when time "falls back." A steak dinner, a reverse drawing, and a silent auction make up this fun-filled evening.
