Diakonia is the Greek word for service. As such it applies to all manner of ministry (official) or assistance (unofficial) that a person may perform or render either to the Church in general or to some private individual. Below are just some ways that St. Ann's Parish helps in serving our community.
I HEART CANYON is a festival put on by the Canyon area churches to benefit the families and students in the CISD community. The purpose is to give these families and students a hand up to start the school year and to reach them with the love and message of Jesus.
Each year St. Ann's is responsible for providing 100 backpacks (filled with supplies) to be handed out on the day of the event as well as volunteering for the event itself!
The St. Therese Circle coordinates our parish’s annual Angel Tree project to provide children in need with Christmas gifts. Angels for parishioners to pick up are usually available after Masses on in Late November or early December. Wrapped gifts are then brought to the church later in the month of December. If you know of a family in our parish who would benefit from being included on our list of children in need of gifts, please stop by the parish office and complete the information form on their behalf or encourage them to do call the parish office.
