St. Ann’s Catholic Church has the privilege of being the center of Catholic life in Canyon. Our parish building is home to hundreds of people and has grown tremendously since its founding in 1925.
Today, every inch of space in the current building is utilized to accommodate our ministries. The space is tight and can be uninviting. Simply put: the building’s
space hinders our goal of engaging more people in our community. Now we must take a collective action to create the quality of facilities necessary to provide worship, outreach, education, and faith formation for our community today – and for those who follow.
In 2020, the parish was able to acquire almost three acres of additional land on its northeast perimeter. This long sought-after land makes it possible now to expand and construct these much needed facilities.
With the input of parishioners and parish leadership, we have identified goals to create an inviting, attractive, and efficient space that will support our efforts and encourage a greater sense of welcome and community.
To achieve this vision, our parish is undertaking a major capital campaign, called Light on a Hill. A successful capital campaign will provide a dynamic home for the St. Ann’s community. Our effective minisgtries will strengthen and enhance the community in Canyon and beyond. Your input has brought us to this point. Will you join the St. Ann’s community and make this vision a reality?
Please prayerfully consider how God is calling you to participate in the Light on a Hill campaign and give generously. Individually, each of us make a significant impact on the spiritual life of St. Ann’s. By working together, we have the privilege and opportunity to make an even greater impact on the quality of Catholic life in the Texas Panhandle.

To better understand our needs and anticipate future growth, the parish conducted a survey in the fall of 2020. Responses were submitted by 156 parishioners, and they were asked to rank the items that are most needed when considering renovating, expanding, or building a new Parish Life Center. Looking at individual items on the survey, 27.03 % of respondents thought that a designated, bigger space for Youth Ministry is extremely important. A smaller number (27.81%) ranked larder and better organized kitchen as extremely important. Almost the same percentage 927.15%) believe that additional classroom/meeting spaces are extremely important.
Our growing and active community requires space to accommodate present needs. Space we currently do not have the facilities toat will enring our education faith formation programs. to realize this vision, St. Ann's Parish seeks to create an inviting, attractive, and efficient space that will support our efforts and encourage a greater sense of welcome and community.
